BBK summer camps are held at the Urdaibai centre with a programme full of activities to promote coexistence and respect for the environment.
As part of BBK’s social action in the field of education, it has organised summer camps since the 1980s, commonly known as the Urdaibai summer camps, with more than 1,000 places per year.
The BBK summer camps are the best known summer educational programmes in Bizkaia and their facilities, which are located in the Mundaka estuary, have a fronton (pelota court), swimming pools, a grass football pitch and a basketball court.
The summer camps are held during the months of July and August at the Urdaibai centre, located in Busturia, in an environment surrounded by nature. Participants at the camps, aged between 7 and 14, can enjoy their free time in an atmosphere of fun, sport and coexistence. In these programmes, the use of Basque is encouraged throughout the stay, with groups carrying out activities following Model D.
The BBK summer camps have an extensive programme of activities through which education on values such as equality, generosity, coexistence and healthy living, in particular, are promoted. The latter includes sailing, canoeing, a splash pad, bicycle tours, excursions and workshops.
AIn addition, during their stay at the Urdaibai centre, the BBK camp team updates the camp blog with photos and experiences.
Registration dates and prices will be published soon for anyone interested, at a general level and a special price for those with a Plan Gaztedi savings plan.
