The artistic reproduction space run by Bilbao City Council BilbaoArte, located on the site of the old schools in Urazurrutia (Bilbao La Vieja), aims to provide artists with the facilities they need to achieve professional standards.

To do this, it provides young creators with the materials and infrastructures that they need to carry out their work: studios, engraving and screen-printing workshops, digital imaging, sculpture, photography, filming set, document centre and project rooms.

BBK – BilbaoArte Grants

BBK, in its quest to boost culture and artistic talent in Bizkaia, collaborates with the BilbaoArte Fundazioa in launching grants to carry out artistic projects. This is a programme providing financial aid and assistance that helps artists to develop their projects. Artists from any artistic-plastic discipline may benefit from the grants, either as a group or individually.

These grants provide up-and-coming artists with an outstanding degree of professionalisation, and enable them to achieve high technical levels. They also provide the artistic community with modern infrastructures to carry out their artistic practice.

Mobility programmes

The BilbaoArte Foundation has various mobility programmes for sending and hosting national and international artists. This allows the creative artists who take part in the programme, to complete their training, discover different cultures and get in touch with agents from the world of art.

The collaborating institutions include The One Academy of Communication Design in Malaysia, the Kunsthaus in Bregenz (Austria) and the Cité des Arts de París (France), among others.
