Workshop

Let’s build our sweeper vehicle

BBK Kuna , 18 July 2026 , 17:30h

Get ready to build a machine capable of moving and collecting small objects along its path. In this activity, children will create a sweeper vehicle using recycled materials such as cardboard boxes, plastic bottle caps, wooden sticks, and strips of paper.

First, they will build the main body of the vehicle and attach the wheels to allow it to move. They will then add a small movable component to the front of the vehicle, which will act as a sweeper, enabling it to push and collect small paper balls, pom-poms, or confetti as it travels.

During the activity, we will talk about how machines are designed to help people carry out specific tasks, such as collecting waste, cleaning streets, transporting materials, or maintaining public spaces. Participants will observe that every machine has parts adapted to the job it is designed to perform and will reflect on the importance of working together to care for the places we share.

This hands-on activity encourages hand-eye coordination, an early understanding of movement mechanisms, creativity, and cause-and-effect experimentation through a fun, practical, and participatory learning experience.
