Workshop

Inventing Our Robot’s Sensors

BBK Kuna , 16 September 2026 , 17:30h

Get ready to discover how machines can sense the world around them. In this session, we will introduce the concept of sensors in a simple way, relating them to some of our own senses, such as seeing, hearing and touch.

Each participant will then use modelling clay to create a variety of imaginary sensors: large eyes for seeing, antennas for listening, buttons for detecting objects, or any other creative inventions they can imagine.

The finished sensors can be attached to a template or base model of a machine, allowing children to imagine what kind of information their robot could gather through them.

This activity introduces the concept of sensors in a simple and visual way while encouraging fine motor skills, creativity and oral expression.
