Introducing the new season of Klima Abentura in Urdaibai: art, science and fun to spark climate awareness

From BBK we present a new season of Klima Abentura in the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve, an experiential space where we once again combine art, science, nature and fun with the aim of continuing to boost climate awareness among families, young people and visitors.
This Monday we officially presented the new edition in an event held at the park itself, with the participation of the president of BBK, Unai Rementeria, and the head of the Environment department, Ainhoa Elortegi. During the presentation we shared the main novelties of this season, which kicks off with the start of summer.
A park that turns sustainability into a living experience
In this new season we are taking a step further in our way of explaining climate change. We have incorporated an environmental footprint scanner that allows each visitor to know their impact and build their own itinerary within the park, focusing on water, energy, food or fashion.
From there, we accompany visitors on a mission centered around the “Diwos” and their new story, The Invisible Threat, where we work on how daily decisions directly influence the planet.
We have also added the exhibition “Natura Fugit” by the artist Jesús Mari Lazkano, reinforcing the connection between art, landscape and climate change from an emotional and reflective perspective.
Experiences, play and learning for all ages
At Klima Abentura we continue to rely on installations that combine fun and learning. We propose experiences such as the Zip line, the 360º Dome or the Ulysses Experience, alongside interactive games like Zaborren irlak, Ohituren tiragoma, Pilota-arrantza or Jaurtiketa Digitala.
Each of these activities is designed so that learning about sustainability becomes an active, participatory and memorable experience.
Culture, gastronomy and summer in Urdaibai
This summer we are also strengthening our cultural and gastronomic programming with acoustic concerts, open-air cinema, showcookings and days dedicated to local produce.
Among the highlighted events are the Klima Zuzenean sessions, featuring artists like Maren, Montana and Addar, as well as family screenings such as Ice Age and Robots in Basque.
In addition, we are organizing gastronomic days like Udako Zaporeak or Itsas Zaporeak, along with family activities and workshops that connect sustainability, culture and territory.
Pools to enjoy with the family once again
This summer we are also bringing back one of the most valued spaces, the BBK Klima swimming pools. They will reopen in August as a relaxation and enjoyment area in the heart of nature, with independent access and rates adapted for all ages.
A shared commitment
With this new edition, we reaffirm our commitment to environmental education and climate action. We want every visit to Klima Abentura to be a starting point, an experience that helps people reflect, learn and, above all, take action.
Because for us, climate change is not a distant future but a reality that begins with every daily decision, and we believe that we can only face it if we do it together.
