Registration period now open for the new Sasoiko program for the 2026-2027 academic year

Today we are opening the registration period for the 2026-2027 academic year program at Sasoiko. A new proposal with which we resume activity after the summer break and with which we reaffirm our commitment to a model of active, participatory aging with social impact in Bizkaia.
Aiming at individuals who have concluded their working lives and choose to remain active, this program seeks to offer an open space where they can continue learning, socializing, and generating initiatives with a positive impact on our environment.
The new offering combines formats of varying duration to adapt to the different interests and availability of the participating individuals. Through all of them, we once again highlight that talent and experience do not retire, but rather transform to continue contributing to our environment.
Brief sessions and practical workshops: culture, health, and digital training
Our program, which will take place between September and June at our center on Calle Ronda in Bilbao, includes short talks and brief sessions designed to inform and participate without commitment. In this block, we address current affairs topics, cultural dissemination with Hartu Emanak, practical knowledge led by UNED Senior, or the cycle of introduction and attendance at opera rehearsals with ABAO.
Likewise, through practical pill-format workshops, sessions are offered focused on the everyday use of technology (smartphone use, WhatsApp, online banking, or the health folder), cancer prevention and awareness, or guidelines against misinformation to learn how to detect fake news, among other topics.
Group programs and continuity projects
For those looking for a deeper and continuous educational journey, we offer multi-session programs such as Preparing for retirement (focused on emotional management and new life projects), Being a grandparent today, Applied technology workshops, Savings and financial planning courses with Kutxabank, or Fashion and sustainability in collaboration with Gaztegune of the Bilbao City Council.
Standing out in this section is the All Iron – Neighborhood Dialogues initiative, a space conceived to share life stories about migration, work, and sports alongside people of different generations and origins, which will culminate in a collective creation reflecting the diversity of Bizkaia.
Free community-driven activities
Active participation is the heart of Sasoiko. Therefore, we maintain a block of free proposals driven and taught by the participants themselves, covering disciplines such as filmmaking (with the production of a short film), theatrical improvisation, creative writing, poetry, self-knowledge, wellness and relaxation, movement and dance, or educational volunteering.

The registration period will remain open until September 21. Interested individuals can check the detailed information of each activity and complete their enrollment through the following channels:
