All Iron – Neighbourhood Dialogues

Sasoiko Centre , 29 September 2026 , 16:30h

Stories that bring us together and weave Bizkaia’s identity

Would you like to share your experiences of effort, adaptation and putting down roots in Bizkaia? Would you like to discover the stories of people who, whether arriving from near or far, have helped build our neighbourhoods?

In one way or another, we all have stories of belonging and adaptation: from those who have recently arrived in Bizkaia to those who have lived here all their lives, including families who settled in the region several generations ago.

All Iron – Neighbourhood Dialogues is a meeting place for different cultures and generations. Younger and older people, local residents and migrants will come together to talk openly, build connections and recognise ourselves in one another’s experiences.

This is not a theoretical workshop about migration. It is a space for sharing memories and personal experiences connected to our neighbourhoods, work, sport and everyday life. Through these stories, we will discover the common paths that have enabled us to put down roots, form relationships and build a home in Bizkaia.

Throughout the sessions, we will discuss our experiences of migration, effort and adaptation. We will listen to stories from people of different ages and backgrounds, recognising the diversity that forms an essential part of our community.

We will also record personal accounts, anecdotes and memories, preserving them and giving a voice to a collective history shaped by many different people. This living archive will recognise and honour those whose experiences have helped transform our neighbourhoods and the wider region.

Each story and place of origin will also be represented by a piece of fabric. Using the traditional craft of patchwork, we will bring these pieces together to create a unique sports race bib: a collective symbol of Bizkaia’s diversity, coexistence and unity.

Whether you have recently retired, believe in a multicultural Bizkaia or would like to share your story while discovering those of others, this programme is for you.

Your story is also part of our identity. Sign up, contribute your piece of life and help us weave the Bizkaia of the future.
