Building a Panel of Buttons and Lights

Get ready to design the control panel for a fantastic machine. In this session, children will create an imaginary device using a variety of materials and textures.

Using a cardboard base, they will add tissue paper balls, cardboard circles, small pieces of yarn and other materials to represent buttons, lights and connections.

Each participant will decide what happens when the imaginary buttons are pressed: turning on a machine, opening a door, helping to tidy a room or performing any other function they can imagine.

This activity encourages fine motor skills, creativity and symbolic play while introducing children to the visual elements commonly found in technological devices.
