Workshop

Connecting Our Computer

BBK Kuna , 23 September 2026 , 17:30h

Get ready to discover how the different parts of a computer work together. In this session, children will take part in a creative, hands-on activity to explore some of the key components of a computer system and understand their functions.

Each participant will receive an age-appropriate template featuring a central processing unit alongside several computer components, such as a monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, camera and microphone.

Using yarn in different colours, children will connect each component to the central unit. Each colour will represent a different type of information or function, such as images, sound, voice, or the actions carried out using the keyboard and mouse.

Throughout the activity, we will discuss the role of each component and discover that all the different parts of a computer need to work together in order to perform different tasks.

This activity develops hand-eye coordination, concentration, spatial awareness and a basic understanding of how computer systems work through a creative, visual and hands-on approach.
