Lamiae Chaabi

Lamiae arrived in Bilbao a year ago without resources, without family, without clothes… “without a soul and without anything,” as she says. After some time on the street, her life took a turn thanks to the support of Bizitegi and her transit through LaMia BBK Women Hostel, a safe space that offered not only a roof, but a new perspective. The project promotes coexistence as a tool for inclusion, encouraging mutual support and creating links between people.

In LaMia she found a network of support, dignity and hope. Today she studies a higher degree in Social Integration with the desire to help others in similar situations. Her story shows that sometimes a place like LaMia can mean much more than accommodation: it can be the beginning of a new life.
