We are driving seven technological innovation projects to improve people’s lives.

True innovation does not start with technology. It starts with a need. With this conviction, at BBK Fundación Bancaria we work so that technological advances translate into real solutions that contribute to improving people’s quality of life. That is why we have launched our Technological Innovation call for proposals. An initiative through which we seek to connect the potential of new technologies with the knowledge and experience of social organizations in Bizkaia. After evaluating 31 proposals, we have selected seven projects that stand out for their transformative capacity, the strength of their partnerships, and their potential to generate a positive social impact. With this call for proposals, we want to demonstrate that true progress is not measured solely by the advances we are able to develop, but by the changes we manage to create in people’s lives. Seven projects to move toward a more inclusive society The selected initiatives represent different realities and areas of action, but they share a common vision: using technology to increase personal autonomy, improve caregiving, facilitate access to specialized resources, and expand opportunities for social and labor inclusion. These are the seven projects we are going to promote:

  • ZaintzEXO, by Aurrerantz and Gogoa Mobility Robots, which develops solutions based on textile exoskeletons to improve working conditions for home care professionals.

  • myMSCloud, by Fundación Esclerosis Múltiple Eugenia Epalza and Reappciona, which incorporates conversational artificial intelligence to improve the monitoring and support of people with multiple sclerosis.

  • ALAI, by Apnabi Lan and Redline Asesores, an assistant based on artificial intelligence to foster emotional regulation and employment inclusion for autistic people.

  • AHOOTSA, by Asociación Gaude and Centro San Luis, which uses intelligent robotics to enhance communication and autonomy for people with intellectual disabilities.

  • IA Inklusiboa, by Lantegi Batuak and Dominion, which applies artificial intelligence to reinforce employment inclusion processes and offer more personalized support.

  • NeuroRehab, by ASPARBI and DynamicsVR, which proposes a home telerehabilitation solution for people with Parkinson’s using virtual reality and artificial intelligence.

  • Generative AI to improve support, by Argia and Teknei, which seeks to reinforce care and support for people with mental health issues using artificial intelligence tools.

Each of these projects brings us closer to a society in which technology helps overcome barriers, facilitates caregiving, and contributes to enabling more people to develop their autonomy and abilities.

We believe in collaboration as a driver of transformation

At BBK, we are clear that major social challenges require shared responses. That is why one of the main objectives of this call for proposals has been to strengthen partnerships between third-sector organizations and technology companies.

We believe it is precisely in this collaboration where the solutions with the greatest capacity for transformation emerge: when those who know social needs firsthand work alongside those who have the knowledge and technological resources to develop new responses.

The 31 proposals received have allowed us to see the talent, creativity, and commitment of organizations that, even in contexts of limited resources, continue to seek new ways to improve people’s lives. And they have also confirmed for us that social innovation and technological innovation can and must advance together.

We continue to support innovation that generates impact

The selection of these seven projects does not represent the end of the road, but the beginning of a new stage. Now comes the moment to transform ideas into concrete solutions, develop and validate the proposals, measure their results, and share learnings that allow their scope to be expanded. At BBK, we will continue to support the selected organizations during this process, because we want the solutions that are beginning to be developed today to benefit an increasingly larger number of people tomorrow. Our commitment is to keep promoting technological innovation with a social purpose, capable of creating opportunities, strengthening inclusion, and contributing to the well-being of our society.
