It is open to people, businesses and institutions interested in exploring the contribution of trends to the growth of their business and their potential for discovering opportunities, renewing oneself or anticipating the future.

The speakers

Livia Fioretti, Head of Global Insight Network, Trendwatching

Livia, based in Barcelona, heads up TrendWatching’s community of 600+ trend professionals across the globe. Previously, she worked as Lead Analyst for South & Central America.  Livia is an experienced public speaker and workshop facilitator, having delivered bespoke projects to clients around the world and presented trend keynotes at events from Ecuador to Norway. She is also a guest lecturer at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam and VIA University College in Aarhus, Denmark, and most recently hosted webinars for Hult International Business School (Cambridge), Turner Broadcasting (Sí£o Paulo), University of East London, Newcastle University, Congresso Brasileiro Da Arquitetura Da Felicidade and George Brown College (Canada).

Lourdes Rodrí­guez, Senior Trends Researcher & Analyst, Independent Consultant

Graduated in Psychology, specialized in strategic foresight, research, analysis and conceptualization of trends for leading companies. She has combined her professional activity for more than 10 years, with her teaching work in various schools and universities, giving conferences and seminars on innovation, trends and future design to senior managers, public bodies, schools, universities and leading associations such as the Ministry of Environment, UNESCO, Deloitte NL, Greenpeace, Equifax, ADEO group, Ogilvy, Banco Santander, BBVA, among others. Currently, she combines her work as a Global Network Weaver in the international organization Teach the Future, with her work as head of the trend observatory at Mindset. In addition, she is a member of the Design Futures Initiative organization.

Els Dragt, Independent Trend Researcher & Trainer, Studio Elsewhere

Els Dragt is an Amsterdam based independent trend researcher with over twenty years of experience in spotting and analysing seeds of change. Before going freelance as Studio Elsewhere, she has worked at several agencies and for various international clients, ranging from non-profit to commercial ones. Els currently focuses on training people how to research trend themselves. A sample of clients include KPN telecom, Manchester City Football Group, HIVOS (an NGO), the Dutch government and Viacom. She is an author of several research related books, such as ‘How to Research Trends’ and ‘Dare to Ask’ (BIS Publishers). As a guest lecturer Els teaches at various universities in Europe where they use her 3-phased trend method in their study programs.

Louise Byg Kongsholm, Pej Gruppen – Scandinavian Trend Institute

Louise Byg Kongsholm is a profound keynote speaker, trend researcher and consultant as well as a well-established book author and experienced magazine editor focusing on Scandinavian trends, design, fashion, interior, retail and food. Kongsholm is the owner and director of the Scandinavian trend institute Pej Gruppen (est. in 1975). She is also editor in chief and publisher of the four Danish magazines TOJ and she has written several books on trend forecasting, on the future of retail and on life stage segmentation. She is seen as a strong expert within consumer behaviour, retail and etail, food trends and trend research as a discipline and is a sought-after speaker who is heavily booked throughout the year.

Gema Requena, founder Nethunting

Trend Forescaster & Vision Leader. Ambassador of positive impact. The founder of strategic advisors in Nethunting, Teachers and Marketing, innovation, Future Display, Traveling and Development. Its mission is to understand the individual in connection with society, culture and technology. It investigates, writes, advises, and provides training on propensities with a proven ability to advance several years. Trained in communication, marketing, sociology, inclination research, coolness, fashion, city design, sustainable development, and social innovation, he continues to grow through his self-sufficiency and “Long life learning”, and also provides knowledge by creating tools and patterns for exploration.

Luca Morena, PhD, Founder & CEO, Nextatlas

Luca Morena has a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Bologna and has been a Postdoc at the Laboratory of Ontology at the University of Turin. His main research interests are now in the philosophy of technology and AI. Luca is Co-Founder and CEO of iCoolhunt SpA/Nextatlas.

Hanne Lindholt Caspersen, Senior Innovation Advisor, TRENDONE

Hanne Caspersen is working as a trend based innovation advisor and consultant at TRENDONE since  2019. From 1998 till 2019 she worked in various roles within the field trend analysis and trend research at Philips Design in the Netherlands, in her last role she was creative director of trends research in strategic design. She’s a people centric strategic design thinker, a professional facilitator, key-note speaker and has deep domain knowledge within the fields of healthcare, consumer lifestyle, science and technology. She has participated in hackathons, teaches trend research at Technical University Delft and DJMX (Danish school of Journalism and Media), co-authors papers, co-writes patents and enjoys creative writing.

Geraldine Wharry, Fashion futurist, educator and designer. Founder of Trend Atelier.

Geraldine Wharry is a Fashion Futurist, Public Speaker, Educator and Designer with 20 years of experience working across the Fashion Industry. Her work has been implemented with global leaders and has influenced agencies and brands in areas as diverse as Tech, Lifestyle, Beauty, Retail, Innovation, Electronics and Youth Culture in the USA, Europe and Asia. Her views are regularly featured on the BBC, Vogue, Vice and other international press publications. She writes about thought provoking futures for Dazed Beauty. Passionate about knowledge, Geraldine also lectures on the methodologies of future forecasting and future scenarios at Universities such as the Royal College of Fashion, London College of Fashion and the Institute of Design. She has also dedicated herself to mentoring and climate change activism.

Emma Chiu, Global Director at Wunderman Thompson Intelligence

Emma Chiu leads Wunderman Thompson Intelligence, the agency’s in-house futures and innovation think-tank. Emma consults with brands on how to build long-term strategies based on qualitative and quantitative insight that incorporates cultural and behavioral change, sector innovation and zeitgeist shifts. She has worked with brands including Microsoft, Shiseido, Unilever, Samsung and Campari.   Emma’s foresight and thought leadership has been picked up by global publications and has been featured in The Telegraph, Creative Review, New York Magazine, Dazed Digital and Vogue. She is also a member of the WARC Awards 2020 judging panel and The International Color Awards 2020 judging panel. In addition, Emma regularly speaks at international conferences including SXSW Interactive, Adobe Max and Pause Fest. She lives in New York.
